It looks like a case of misunderstanding. Did you explain why you had the change of heart?. Explain your personal situation -like you are explaining here- with the pregnancy and commute time and doctors visits that are required every week?. I am not sure why a sane person wont understand the reasons why you decided not to join them. Further, if they do not understand, ask them if they have filed paperwork for H1?. If NO, then what is the claim of $3000 for?

Guys,
The I140 processing dates for VSC show as 1 April 2006 and have been the same atleast for the last 1 year. I called customer service but couldnt get a straight answer from them - the standard bs about RD being well within standard processing times etc. Anyway, does anyone have an idea about this issue???

Go for GC , not career. You can get good career whenever you want, but you cant get GC whenever you want. Once you get GC you can apply for 150k job wherever you want, any company you want. With h1 you cant do that.

opening new threads like this is annoying, I see lots of useless thread around here which discourages me to come to IV that often. He is asking update from CORE like they owe him, he must have paid his attorney and should attorney in such way not here. Whenever core has something to share they do share, no doubts.
If you do not feel like coming to IV forum, that is your problem.
If anything only the IV Admins can speak of what the members can ask or cannot ask.
I think it is clear that this platform is not a paid subscription, so if the IV Admins do not ask for money who are you to speak of money here?
I did not demand anything, it was a request which the Admins and lot other members would understand except for some jacka** like u.

Also, those who have the "Senior" Member tags, imagine when you first joined this forum, if someone would have responded back saying "Have you paid any money that you are asking for it?" or "What have you contributed or given to this forum that you are asking for it?"
I think the choice and the decision on what to ask and what not to ask is on the Admins of this forum and the IV Members in general and not just on few people like you. If you dont have an answer please do not respond as you are adding to the so called "NEW ANNOYING THREADS".

Does anyone know if people on H4 are allowed to work unpaid? For example, can a person on an H4 visa file for an H1B visa with a start date of October 1st, 2007 but work on a volunteer basis (i.e., unpaid) at the same job while waiting for the H1B to come?

H4 can do volunteer work for non-profit organizations only.

I think the guy who called afterwards nailed it right..
I don't know why folks don't emphasis injustice built-in per country quota..
If discrimination is prohibited anywhere else based on persons's national origin why is it allowed to continue in Green Card queue??
We should hammer this point everywhere..
I have spoken abt it and no one can really say any good counter-point..
IF the pain was shared across all the nations, you bet there would be more support across the board..
Also per-country quotas are really relic of pre-1965 European only immigration policy..
Before anything else I would like simple just queue formed.. This is new "Asian Exclusion Law" and that should be #1 target!

Me and my wife applied for EAD on July 2nd, 2007 and got EAD in first week of OCT with error on both cards; they swap our A#s; My card has my wife's number and my wife card had my A #; I talked to CR; asked me to send both cards back; waited for 3 months for new cards, took infopass in DEC...created atleast 5 SR ..resend 765 applications 3 time to TSC....keep calling them ....and at the end we got corrected cards last week....

2. EB2 - Labor approved -Oct 2005 Waiting for PD to port - Salary 80k ( IS manager)
I do not know what to do, I am thinking couple of situations.
I. File 485 with EB3.
Advantages:
Low Salary Requirements,
Generic Job Duties,
Easy to use AC21,
Already approved I-140
Disadvantages:
Possible retrogression,
So more wait before realizing the dream of actual freedom.
II. File 485 with EB2 labor (concurrent filing)
Advantages:
Less chance of retrogression.
Quicker path to GC.
Disadvantages:
I-140 denial chances
more money to spend for I-140 and PP
Difficult to use AC21 - difficult to find managerial job with 80K salary in Midwest.
Someone please tell us that we can replace/upgrade the underlying I-140 tagged to 485 application.

No reason to be shy IVians. The person at the other end of the line is human just like you and it is a part of their job to take our messages and convey them to the representatives.

I don't think constitution allows suing Congress because it has immunity. Based on the their approval ratings you would see thousands of lawsuits everyday if it was allows to sue congress.

In that case we would have to take a number in line to sue congress because it will be big line. In other words there will be backlog to sue Congress and that backlog would be bigger than the green card backlog. :)

Btw, even i am EB2 - i support porting as i have seen EB3 people working with me and they are no where less in skills .... i want to file a lawsuit so that we can bring some lazy asses to justice like USCIS.

If you are taking online classes, why would your status matter?? i understand you need to have legal status to take regular (in-class) courses, but dont really feel an online university would really care. when you can pretty much log in from any where in the world, why would they worry about you being here illegally?
just my opinion.
I was worried because in the application, the admissions advisor was asking em to fill SSN & Visa status information. I was a bit worried to give that information if that is going to be voilated in any way.
