You guys can scream, cry, sue, jump, sing, dance whatever, no one is going to touch any country cap legislation or any pro immi legislation till about 2011-12 at least (though i m sure it wont happen then either)
And they will never allow "no country cap" either-ways, call it unconstitutional or whatever, i am being realistic, they have quota on the diversity visa for a reason they think is appropriate, and they have a quota on the EB system for those same reasons.
Your only hope to get the "country cap" cleared up is that the Point based system gets through , like the one in CIR 2007, which i am sure will not happen before 2012, if it ever happens.

Nope, I haven't got the receipt nos for one set of checks yet, I guess people filing with TSC are getting receipt nos & also the notices.I know few friends of mine got thier notices too

Prefer seperate checks for each, with one check if even one application gets rejected all will come back - this is what my attorney said
My attorney asked just to give one cheque for $745 each for myself and my spouse for I-485, I -131 and I-765. Our applications will be filed today.
Is this OK. Will all the 3 receipt numbers be printed on the back of one cheque. Please let me know if anyone of you have done the same. Thank you.

No worries sathweb.. We all are in the same situation and at times things happen. Our mission is one: GC or no GC, we also deserve peace of mind. GC is just a means, not the final destination. :)

I have been thinking in similar lines for quite sometime now. I have decided to wait till September 2012 to see if dates reach my PD which is October 2007.
If not i am strongly looking at New Zealand too...At least for me i want to work/live in a western country as locums and relax in India when i am off...I dont see myself working in India full time, at least not at this point.
This may not work for most folks but being in Health Care, i have this option.

3/10 year applies ONLY for illegal presence and not out of status. The illegal presence starts after I-94 date. I think one of Pappu's blog covers illegal presence details.
However, for I-485 approval, section 245(k) covers out of status for 180 cumulative calendar days since last lawful admission in US.

I did not take till now. I thought of waiting for at least a week more as the content in the notice I received says that ' If I don't receive any other notice regarding Biometrics or Card within 90 days I need to call them'.

I think we should go to USCIS/DOS office. But problem is we have to do this on weekdays and most of member won't be join on weekdays because of work.
If we do on weekend then we will get more response but then offices will be closed unless they working on weekend as they did last weekend.
Are you serious? If people are so much interested in getting a GC and would like to make an impact, a day's work should not be a big deal. Forget the weekend stuff as DC streets have no federal government business on weekends. There are some guys who are willing to drive from NY/NJ/NC.
Even if we take the poll and lets say 500 people would like to come, that number will become 250 or less as most of us will have last minute issues as usual :p

The way i understand this, not all companies are bound by the EOE laws.
Certain conditions have to be met to be considered an EOE.
Not every employer is an equal opp employer, so those guys can hire whoever they want.
Besides hiring folks on h1b, etc could add to costs for employers. So they choose not to employ such folks.

it is not to prevent 'de-magnetization' but to prevent rfid communication. All new passport and other govt id 'cards' ship with rfid chip in them which contains encrypted biometrics info. Since rfid info can be read even 10 meters away with right equipment, it is better to put it in a metallic sleeve (creating a Faraday cage) to prevent anyone from sniffing then biometrics info.

Guys,
It's almost 3 weeks today since I've opened SRs for my self and my spouse for not receiving FP notice and we haven't got any notice yet.
I want to know if some one who opened a SR for FP and did not receive any FP notice after the wait period expired, what did you do? Is taking an infopass the next step for missing FP notices or just wait and watch?

The applications recrived at TEXAS on 1st JUN started receiving recepit notices. One of my friends checks got cleared today. :confused: As per my analysys nebraska had a 6 day lag till Jan 1st. Lets see.

You will see a date on I-485 only if you filed I-140 & I-485 concurrently. Even my I-485 does not have any priority date.
