When did u apply for your ead? i am in the same boat and have filed for paper based EAD. hope to get my fp notice soon.
I applied for my EAD and AP renewal on the second week of May 2008. Again, I am not sure if EAD or AP renewal triggered the FP notice. Good luck to you.

Dear friends we are all in this long and arduous journey together! So let�s channelize and focus our energies to achieve our goals & not scoring goals / points over each other. Iam new to this forum. I see this as an excellent place to get information and hear different points of view. I highly respect comments / suggestions from other members, I know this journey has taken a toll on everybody, however cheer up and never loose hope, each one of us will have our day, persistence and hard work always pays, merit must rule and may it overrule ! The silver lining is that several people got their GC�s this month so lets be happy for them, people are crossing the tunnel and seeing light, so will we one day.

IV Core. Can something be done to highlight this issue in your conversation with authorities ?
The problem with this argument is it separates the members of the Family. If the marriage is occurred prior to approval of green card spouse will fall in EB category. If the marriage date is after approval of the green card it will fall into Family quota. See those guys who got married after green card and trying to bring their spouses how much trouble they are having. Instead of focusing on that You can Focus on the issue of making one EB visa number per family in case EB immigrant. Now Each one of the Spouse are using one number. That will effectively double the available visa numbers.

USCIS should seperate North Indians and South Indians - We are soooo very different anyways ..... Different language - different look - different food ..... That way all of us North Indians will get our GC sooner :D

That way Maharashtrians who are thought to be North Indians by people from Kerala and thought to be south Indians by people from Punjab, will finally know if they will get their GC in time. Hey, since USCIS is going to use stereotypes anyway, how about we base the EB category, based on our stereotypical knowledge of relative intelligence between the "races"?

I'm very glad to hear the news. Let us see when my checks are going to be cashed. By the way, was your 485 packet signed by F.HEINAUER @NSC on July 16th?
I did called NSC IO yesterday and she said that my packet must have been in caught up in the front log.
Looks like all our 485 packets have been xfered to TSC from NSC. Hence SRCXXXXXXXXX

I can very well relate to your desperation and anger, but please don't react emotionally. The legal or technical fact remains that no-one guranteed us GC and truth of the matter is most of us said "No" when immigration officer asked " do you have plans to settle in State?" So their is no question of equitable treatment.
. No Sir, I can't say thier is conspiracy as I know of none. As of us doing favor? ... is completly wrong, we all knew what and why we are coming here for. Had we had better choice we would have opted for that. Let's be honest to ourselves.

After 2005, I changed my mind and we had applied twice (me and my spouse) and hence we marked yes on the question whether any immigrant application was filed on our behalf. No we did not lie there. And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?
I am not against capitalism but I am against fighting injustice such as you dont get GC because you were born in India. And yes change will come but if we dont do anything we get nothing.

There are still many out there who are happily enjoying the fruits of Aman's and other core members' hard work without even knowing what they did for us. For them it's just something that happened on its own. I joined in June and became a contributing member when I came to know the efforts being put in by core. I know for some people shelling out $100 is a big deal, particularly AFTER the victory in this first fight, but guys, think if you were made to wait for 3-4 more years before you were allowed to apply. Your spouses can work now and make more money for your household.

Thanks for starting the thread. I share your grief and agree that we gotta do something. As much as I agree that we have to fight for our rights, I am not too sure if suing is the best option.
Again, if you all decide too, I will be more than glad to contribute my 100 but do we have enough ground to ask the questions in such 'blunt' manner? As much as you and I believe that our lives are completely topsy-turvied by these arcane policies, would some one arguing against our claim say that we are still entitled to do what we were allowed here to do. The employment visa allows us to work in a certain kind of job and nothing is hampering that aspect. Yes, it screws up promotions, displaces your plans to stay and has ill-effects both at a personal as well as professional levels but still..
If we have to sue, I think the ground work one has to do is immense. Find significant amounts of data from USCIS in terms of how random their approvals are and how it affects you after we all paid monies expecting a totally different pattern. If this can be accomplished, we could sue them probably for their lack of customer service, by-passing their guidelines on a consistent basis and thus hampering the lives of several people who were here for example in 2001, etc. I strongly believe data is our best friend (worst too, as it is personal data that we probably might not be entitled to even enquire..)
Again, I am no lawyer. I am sort of playing devil's advocate and just thinking through the obvious rebuttals. If we were too get enough data, combining that with active media publicity and some innovative ideas (flowers/clocks/watches whatever) or getting the businesses to acknowledge, then we may see certain changes.
I don't mean to damper your spirits by any sort. I certainly like the 'return my money if you fail to live by your own guidelines'.
Just the fact that, they keep going back from Current to Unavailable to 2006 to 2003 to etc, we have right to sue. Reasons below.

To allot a GC or Immigration is a leanthy process includes several steps so it takes time to pass through all these steps. After validating and checking all the documents the GC is alloted

I belongs to TSC category but my lawyer sent my application to Nebraska.When I check the status online, says "case received in TSC"!! but Only the AP and EAD Checks are cashed. The I485 & FP checks are not yet cashed. Do any one come across like this?.

ok, start predicting the april visa bulletin and cheer up. everyone has problems and most are depressed. i have been victim of severe depression, i cant even say, most of the time it has so severe effects -- i lose my appetite. but i dont cry in public, nor say publicly i suffer from it, nor have i been to a doctor for it.

Blacks, Latinos and even us Indians have reservation in the US. We get reservations right from Kinder garden, thru college and job opportunities. Many Federal govt. contracts are reserved for minorities and women.

After receiving the standard email respose from the congressman/senator...I am wondering are they even aware about the legal immigrants. All we are getting the standard template which is talking about only illegals and DREAM.

Yes generally these replies come in from one of their workers, maybe even a trainee.
Thats why IV wants everyone to call back the Senator/US Reps office mentioning the email response, and ask why our problems were not addressed (legal immigrants) and that you need more clarifications. Typically they have a person handling immigration issues.

1. Employment based Visa recapture
2. Protecting children of legal immigrants from aging out regime
this is even more important than just sending an email
Better yet if you can meet if not call in the next 7-10 days.
